Here's a repost of a very important book review originally published in THE RESISTER.  If you haven't read it, you should.

This book asks: "What caused Nazi Germany?" Unlike lesser attempts to explain that blood bath, The Ominous Parallels answers: "The same philosophies that are prevalent in the United States of America." Dr. Peikoff argues convincingly that in both countries the intellectual, educational and political leadership share, explicitly or implicitly, the same core ideologies. These ideologies submit that reality is subjective--a malleable illusion; emotions are the proper guide to human action--especially the emotions of race and the tribe, which cannot be understood by outsiders; self-sacrifice for the sake of others should usurp a man's own desires--and the state must take any necessary action to ensure that sacrifice. These ideologies demand that "individual selfishness" does not obstruct the path of "the public interest."

From Part One, Chapter One: " 'To be a socialist,' says Goebbels, 'is to submit the I to the thou; socialism is sacrificing the individual to the whole.' By this definition, the Nazis practiced what they preached. They practiced it at home and then abroad. No one can claim that they did not sacrifice enough individuals."

The underlying theme in The Ominous Parallels is how philosophy shapes cultures, and reading this book, it is difficult to escape a feeling of hopeless dread; of being caught in racing floodwaters and swept madly toward a destruction you are helpless to prevent. Given the theme of this nation's descent into fascism, and Dr. Peikoff's uncompromising method of proving it, that is the proper effect.

The conclusion of The Ominous Parallels is not that we are helplessly destined to go to the same lengths down the same road as Germany. The conclusion is that it is time for us to choose whether or not we will; that if we fail to consciously decide, the decision will be made for us. Contrary to the bleating of irrationalists then or now, it is only a coherent philosophy of reason and individual rights which will give us the means to choose not to become our own slaughterhouse.

Dr. Peikoff shows that such a philosophy is not prevalent in the United States because, although this nation was unique in being founded on philosophic ideals (rather than arbitrary land-grabs and tribal warfare), it was ultimately lacking a coherent detailed formulation of those ideals, as well as the Aristotelian philosophers to create one. Independence from Europe was only won physically--not ideologically. "The land of poets and philosophers was brought down by its poets and philosophers," says Peikoff. The resulting bowel movement of docile Nazi sheep who obeyed their Fuhrer because they obeyed their philosophers could indeed be us, for their philosophers--their pragmatists and Kants, their Hegels and Marxes--are ours
by adoption.

We do have one trump card, "...the philosophical breach between the American people and the intellectuals." In Germany, the intellectuals and the people were united in ideology, feeling at home in their country and with each other. This, says Peikoff, is not yet the case in America. Peikoff's book will help to keep it that way.

Once force is openly used against those who speak out against the Left then the gloves will come off and force WILL be openly used against the Left. It is generally considered to be bad form to advocate violence against someone simply because of their political views. But if some Leftist thug finds him or her self staring at the muzzle of an assault rifle it is because the stupid Leftist put him or her self there.  And the truth isn't a leftist strong point.

The fact of the matter is that the self-described "Peace Activist" does not act out of conscience but out of a fraudulent desire to pose as a morally superior being without any regard for the millions of innocents that they condemn to death and servitude. A "Peace Activist" is a willing accessory to the acts of mass slavery and mass murders committed by the various adherents of toxic ideologies such as Socialism and Islam. And killing a "Peace Activist" is not an act of murder, it is in effect the putting down of a diseased animal which is a demonstrated hazard to innocent Human Life.

The advocacy of a political end cannot be separated from the advocacy the means it is brought about.  The case in this point is that the disarming of The People requires the use of deadly force. Some advocates of "Gun Control" do not have a problem with this.  In their view reality is subject to a vote and therefore a vote to legalize the murder of citizens who own guns is morally correct.  But Reality is Real.  Reality is not subject to a vote.  And Murder is Murder.  No vote by any political body can change that.  The advocacy of "Gun Control" is the advocacy of Murder.  A state that legalizes Murder in this respect ceases to be a government and devolves to a gang of criminals.  And as such it must be put down by deadly force,and those who pushed and voted for the Murder of gun owners  must themselves be put to death.

But is gun control effective?

No.

So I said, 'okay, let's just say we found them'."

If gun control doesn't keep firearms out of the hands of criminals (genocidal criminals at that) in Soviet Russia, it is not going to do so in Soviet America.

The fact is that some adherents of what was politely called gun control are in fact the heirs of Adolf Hitler and the National Socialist German Workers Party.  As a result it has become very-very-very-easy to predict what an advocate of public disarmament will say.  All one has to do is take any mouth dropping of Reichsminister Paul Joseph Goebbels and substitute the words Gun Owner for the word Jew.  Yes, it’s that obvious.  There's no such thing as "common sense gun control" those who are in favor of banning firearms are enemies of Humanity and should be treated in the Nuremberg style, from the neck until dead, and there's no limit to what a Statist can do to a disarmed victim.

We refuse to be a living prop in your ideological fantasies. We refuse to bind ourselves with the chains that you offer us. And we refuse to embark on the path that ultimately leads to the anonymous ditch outside of town.

This isn't Russia in 1917. We know about the ultimate results of your ideological fantasy and will not go down that path without a fight.

So go home, grow up, and get a life.

And I have special message for all those schissekopfen who feel that its cool to wear a Che Guevara shirt in public: Che was the inhuman piece of excrement that Comrade Castro put in charge of "liquidating enemies of the people", which in reality meant shooting anyone with property to steal or who otherwise had a mind or conscience of their own.

In short, Che Guevara was a bloody communist mass murderer. Wearing a Che shirt in a free nation is as disgusting as wearing a Heinrich Himmler shirt in Tel Aviv.

And wearing a Che shirt says that you are no better than a bloody murderer.

The only reason that you aren't beaten to a bloody pulp and hanged from a convenient tree or lamp post is that we are better than you and the murderer that you call a hero.

Here's a thousand words why I will never vote for The Democratic Party.

There's a right way to with deal someone like Koresh and it wasn't followed.

 A basic premise of Collectivism is that all people need a leader to think for them and to collectively direct their lives. In the Collectivist view the Russians needed a big brother or father figure such as Stalin, the Chinese needed a Mao, the Koreans (not just in the north) needed the Kim Dynasty.  And we in the United States absolutely require the guidance of The Big Zero or Hillary. 

(Of course any sympathies the Left ever had for fellow socialists like the Austrian Corporal or the Loud Mouthed Italian fellow have been quietly dropped down the memory hole.)

This is, of course, a total fantasy.

The Shepherd Fantasy appears to be a psychological device that Collectivists use to evade knowledge of, or to mentally blank out, the fact that they are not really useful members of a human society but are truly nothing more than a bunch of parasites and outright predators who are feeding off their betters.

As Ayn Rand once pointed out, they need us. We on the other hand, have absolutely no use for them.

So why won’t the Collectivists get out of the way of those of us who live in the Real World?

Because they know that sooner or later, we will properly identify them for what they are, and that we will eventually turn our guns upon them.

There are several natural consequences of the political primacy of the citizen. I'll just cover the first two here:

Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Amendment II

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

First, the citizen as the sovereign authority must be free to examine the facts for himself and communicate his conclusions to his fellow citizens. He cannot be compelled to believe a falsehood and therefore act on it.

Second, the citizen as the sovereign authority must possess the physical instrument of political authority and be prepared to use it. The ballot that is cast by the citizen, like the paper currency in common use, must be backed by a physical value.  The government must be subordinate to the sovereign authority, the citizens of the nation. And citizens must have the knowledge and the means to enforce their authority.

Contrary to what the practicing Kantians want us to believe, the first four words of the Second Amendment does not constitute a license to disarm the citizens and render them helpless in the face of a supreme state. It means that the citizens must be armed, trained, and organized to enforce their authority upon the government.  Now no rational person wants a civil war in our nation, but if the government would simply comply with the Constitution it wouldn't be necessary.

When I used to write for The Resister I wrotea feature called the "Moral Decision Game," in which the would-be patriot insurrectionist had to deal with an anticipated moral problem. The situation that I presented in the proposal (published as MDG#0) for the feature involved unarmed pro-socialist demonstrators blocking a choke point. (When I showed MDG#0 to my landlady she asked me how she was supposed to clean the blood and gunk off of the tank treads.)

My answer to anyone who would claim that shooting the assailant in the problem presented by the editors of Human Events is a violation of the right to life of the assailant is that the right to life is the right to live a human life. the life of a rationial and productive individual. It is not a right to behave as a subhuman animal.  A right is a concept and as such can only apply to those who understand (or in the case of children, can be expected to learn) the concepts and adhere to them. Those who choose to act like animals have surrendered any claim to any human right.

The one thing that the willfully depraved are loathe to do is to acknowledge the fact that there are people who are in fact better in some respect than they are. To make such an acknowledgement is to issue an indictment of themselves and their own actions.  The willfully depraved will murder individuals or even exterminate entire nations before they will recognize the truth about themselves.

The myth that National Socialism is a right wing ideology basically originated in the the Kremlin and has continued to be repeated by those who are embarrassed about their German ideological relatives.  Seriously, if The Left were seriously and openly called out on this they would either have to drop their beliefs or bust their collective backsides to rehabilitate Hitler and the NSDAP.  Or they would just jump up and down and call us a bunch of liars.  To those who value power over all else, no act is too depraved and no bodycount is too high.  If history has taught us anything it is that those who imagine themselves to be infallible will fail.  And those who imagine themselves incapable of evil will do evil.  But try to tell that to a supporter of  Hillary Clinton and they will call you a liar.

Wakeup Call

The doctrine of Islam denies that Human Life is the basic value of a real moral code.  Why then should a true Muslim NOT murder anyone at whim? The true Muslim has no real moral values.  The true Muslim is promised entry into the eternal whorehouse of Allah and supply of eternal victims to placate his most base carnal desires. 

From an Agnostic view: Rational men have identified God as the first and foremost of rational beings.  From this position rational men seek to join God in his community and to this tries to identify the means of doing so.  This the basis of the Western Monotheist Tradition. (WMT)

Furthermore in the WMT each man is responsible for and in control of his own life.  He must by his own thoughts and actions follow the correct path to enter the Community of God. Attempts by some rulers to enforce a vision of "righteousness" upon his subjects runs counter to reality and are doomed to failure.

In many Polytheist traditions Man is deemed to be the property of one or more deities.  Man exists solely to serve the deities and may be used or even killed in accordance to the doctrine of the religion.  Man is not held to comply with real laws enacted to protect the life and property of other persons.  Man must instead obey the commandments of the deities who claim ownership over him. 

Into this cognitive environment the false prophet Mohammed inserted the doctrine of Islam.  Islam was a theological fraud created to recruit a mob of criminals to enforce his will upon the vast sea of victims.

If there's one myth I'd like to bury, it's that Robert A. Heinlein is a Fascist.

So what is the system Heinlein described in his novel Starship Troopers? (Don't bother to see the movie, it wasn't a proper adaptation of the novel.)

Heinlein wrote the novel to be the part of the juvenile series of science fiction novels published by Scribners and as a response to pro-Soviet peace activism. In the novel a young man grows from a naive high school student to a junior officer in the army. The narrative of the novel also serves as the framework for a series of lectures about the nature of man, morals, war, and government. The most controversial concept in the novel is that not everyone should be allowed to vote. In the place of universal suffrage Heinlein proposed the idea that the legal status of Citizen, who is a member of the sovereign class of the nation with the authority to vote, has to be earned.

Then as now there were people who clearly didn’t understand the concept of government. Then as now there were those who sought to exploit the ignorance of the mere voter in order to obtain political power. And worse to obtain power without restraint.  Heinlein had proposed the idea of earning the sovereign franchise as a filtering mechanism to prevent obvious fools--such as peace activists--from influencing government.

The idea of the restricted franchise is not new. In the Polis of Athens the franchise was restricted to property owning members of the tribe but there was no legal restraint on the state. As history had shown this led to dysfunctions such as legal murder of Socrates.  It was not enough to restrict the powers of government but to restrict who could actually participate in the process of governing.  In effect to idiot-proof the system.

So is it actually necessary to fully implement the system that Heinlein proposed?

The fact is that all forms of authority are based on knowledge and political authority is no exception.  But in the present system political authority is granted to any warm body without regard to their the actual state of knowledge. As a result some warm bodies have traded their votes for a material object such as an IPad or a wad of cash. Or worse they have traded their votes for the warm and fuzzy feeling of having been compassionate.

The result is out present state of our nation. Those who lack knowledge or simple concern for consequences should not have authority over another person, let alone the fate of a nation.

My solution to the problem is simply proper education in the obligations of citizenship.

The course would be similar to a driver education course as presently taught. The first part of the class covers The Constitution, the proper functions of each branch of government, the function of each clause and amendment, the duties of the citizen as a member of the sovereign authority of the nation, and what is expected to happen when the Federal Government enters the failure mode.

The second part of the course covers the function and use of the instrument of political authority, the personal weapon. This covers rifle marksmanship and maintenance. Also covered is the basic organization and tactics of the citizen militia unit.

While the citizenship course will not be mandatory, completion and a passing grade will be required to exercise the authority to vote.

Why did they write in a right to bear arms in the Constitution?

My answer to the question is simply this: WE THE PEOPLE are the sovereign authority of the United States of America.

There are several natural consequences of the political primacy of the citizen. I'll just cover the first two here:

Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Amendment II

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

First, the citizen as the sovereign authority must be free to examine the facts for himself and communicate his conclusions to his fellow citizens. He cannot be compelled to believe a falsehood and therefore act on it.

Second, the citizen as the sovereign authority must possess the physical instrument of political authority and be prepared to use it. The ballot that is cast by the citizen, like the paper currency in common use, must be backed by a physical value.  The government must be subordinate to the sovereign authority, the citizens of the nation. And citizens must have the knowledge and the means to enforce their authority.

Contrary to what the practicing Kantians want us to believe, the first four words of the Second Amendment does not constitute a license to disarm the citizens and render them helpless in the face of a supreme state. It means that the citizens must be armed, trained, and organized to enforce their authority upon the government.  Now no rational person wants a civil war in our nation, but if the government would simply comply with the Constitution it wouldn't be necessary.

A Truth

Once force is openly used against those who speak out against the Left then the gloves will come off and force WILL be openly used against the Left. Once the Left openly repudiates the rules for living in a civil society then their victims will no longer see themselves as subject to those same rules.  Or to put it another way to the Left, break the rules of civil society and you will leave us no choice but to break you.  It's called a civil war. And cars with bumper stickers, tee-shirts, and other examples of open posturing will make target identification very easy.

I once read Andrew Morton's biography of Diana Spencer and it took four months to work up the nerve to finish the first chapter. I was appalled by a mind crushed by a band of witch doctors. To be an adult requires knowledge of what human life is and how to live it. What Diana got was pure poison. She was pounded with the doctrines of selflessness as the moral ideal, of sacrifice and obedience as virtues, of independent judgement as evil, of the mind as useless in reality. Diana valued what others told her to value which led to the constant pursuit of public attention and she sought guidance from psychics and astrologers and even took advice from her own sons. Dealing With Children

Back during the Vietnam War there were Marxists who would set fire to buildings and then cut the hoses with an axe when the firefighters showed up to fight the fire.  But now the grandchildren of those same Marxists whine about their feelings being hurt by any statement of the truth.

Heinlein in his novel STARSHIP TROOPERS put forth the radical idea that adulthood was not only a physical state but a distinctly moral one as well.  And while physical maturity was obvious to an objective observer the moral state was not.  Given that the mentally and morally immature were not able to rationally perform the duties of citizenship he proposed to establish a system for sorting out the able from the unable.  As it's impossible to compel moral maturity what's required is voluntary system to separate functional citizens from the dysfunctional losers.  While Heinlein did present his system of Federal Service in altruistic terms it does allow the separation of moral dead weights, such as the losers above, from mentally and morally active people.

My Theory

Well, the Left can't deal with reality because in reality they are the bad guys. They are constantly trying to live off the work of others thus they have to control their "livestock" by force. Since reason tells us that such behavior is morally intolerable they are left with emotional whining as their means of justifying their actions and allowing themselves to feel good about it. Any refusal to accept the emotional bullshit and obey the self-appointed masters is automatically translated on the emotional level as something to the effect of "die motherfucker!"
