Meanwhile...Across The Ocean

In the land of the Rising Sun:

TOKYO - Japan has the technological know-how to produce a nuclear weapon but has no immediate plans to do so, the foreign minister said Thursday, several weeks after communist North Korea carried out a nuclear test.

Foreign Minister Taro Aso, who has called for discussion of Japan's non-nuclear policy, also asserted that the pacifist constitution does not forbid possession of the bomb

Imagine for a moment that Hillary Rodham Clinton, someone who could be reasonably expected to be Beijing's bitch, were elected in 2008.

Would it be safe to assume that any democratic nation on the Pacific Rim would remain safe under a nuclear umbrella controlled by an American President whose party is known to have taken money from the masters of Communist China?

No. Of course not.

If Hillary, or any other Donk, wins the White House in 2008 we can be certain that there will very shortly be new members of the Nuclear Club.

Say hello to a nuclear armed Japan.

Say hello to a nuclear armed South Korea.

Say hello to a nuclear armed Taiwan.

Say hello to a nuclear armed Australia.

Who knows, perhaps the folks governing New Zealand may even pull their collective heads out of their collective asses on matters of national defense.

And all this will happen because all of these nations will have no other choice.

Any American citizen who is truly concerned about the proliferation of nuclear weapons can only follow one logical course of action. Vote Republican in 2008.

(Unless McCain gets the nomination. Who really knows what he will do?)

And Now For Something Completely Different

The adventures of Mr. Welch in the theatre!

So after that and brief stint in theatre of the absurd (in which I played a serial killing bird enthuasiast) I got a casting call from the Kingwood Community Theatre, version 3. Oedipus Rex, the tragedy. I get there and start reading lines and the director isn't listening. He's already cast the play with his friends. The casting call was required because the theatre demanded all plays be open calls, no troupes. He didn't care. He was some little rich kid who liked to play with daddy's money. Still, he offered me a job as a hand and being not rich, I took it.

To say this kid was overreaching was an understatement. He gave me and the other hands (seven all together) plans for a grandiose two tiered temple platform with moving parts and room for two dozen strippers. Yes strippers. He hired a bunch of strippers for the chorus. If strippers could act they'd be in porn but he had a thing for the girls at the local joint he attended and hired as many as he could. Mainly they just got in the way or tried to get us to see them. Back to the two tiered temple platform with moving parts though. We get bids from the local hardware and lumber stores on building this thing. A grand easy. The stage manager presented the director with the bill and the director scoffs. Seems he spent most of the money on hiring strippers. I'm probably exaggerating that, but not by much.

To make a long story short, the production failed.

Gosh. What a surprise.

The reason that this little misadventure had piqued my interest is that I've borrowed a bit of Oedipus Rex for my screenplay project. (The following has yet to be formally written into the script and is subject to revision.)

The Captain seemed to believe that you had become a central character from an ancient Hellenic tragedy. You know, the one where the character kills his father and rapes his mother.

Oh. I would never do that to Mom.

Or something like that...

Yes, Dennis killed his own father. This is going to have an impact on his long lost twin brother when he finds out...heeheehee...

Quote of the Day

"“I still can'’t act my way out of a wet paper bag...but I'’m really good at getting even with the bad guys."”

-- J.A. Steel, aka Jacquelyn Ruffner. Bad actress and bad movie director.

Most folks who speak or write adversely about her first film, THE THIRD SOCIETY, are usually worried about her unarmed combat skills. I'm not, that's what bayonets are for. As a former grunt I'm more concerned about her marksmanship medals.

Imperial Navy Lieutenant Commander Dennis Sterling is shot after doing something stupid in THE BOUNDARY.

But, according to her self-written press release, she is going to act in and direct her second film. As someone who is only about a third of the way through writing his first screenplay I can only wish her well in this endeavor.

Today in Pizzaland

"Topping" is not the correct answer when the customer service representative, in this case the driver who answered the phone, asks you what you want on top of your last pizza in a three pizza special deal.

Topping is not a topping. Topping is a concept. We cannot put a concept on top of a pizza.

I hope this clears things up.

Barbarism In Action

When I returned home from work tonight the intersection at the west end of the block where I presently live had been taped off by the Minneapolis Police. According to my Mom, who is staying here for Thanksgiving, two men were shot, one fatally.

Nordeast Minneapolis used to be such a nice place to live.

So Anyway

I just ordered a copy of the DVD of VOLS BLANCS. Basically a bunch of videos of the Swiss Air Force flying around set to music.

Parts of which have been posted on You Tube.

That is all.

Today In Socialism

Today is the anniversary of the Murder of Congressman Leo Ryan the other deaths in what became known as the Jonestown Massacre.

Of course in order to create Jonestown the Rev. Jim Jones, as a self-styled Apostolic Socialist, had to totally ignore the historic one-hundred percent failure rate of voluntary socialist communities.

There are limits to what one can do in good faith.

Update at 0345 CST:

I forgot to mention the fact that Jim Jones and his crew were virtually in bed with the Democratic Party machine of San Francisco.

Well boys and girls, can you say election fraud?

I knew you could.

And Now...

The number of things that Mr. Welch cannot do has increased from 800 to 825:

803. If my personal carried firepower exceeds that of the Battleship Texas, there's a problem.

808. Covering fire does not include nuclear weapons.

813. Taking the orc warlord's skull as a trophy is acceptable. Not as a hand puppet.

816. The adventure wrap up is the epilogue. Not Miller Time.

822. If everybody in the room is in black leather, we're in the thieves' guild. Not a fetish club.

Um, okay...

Something I Found

Some people wonder why I will have nothing to do with the Democratic Party.

From today's New York Sun:

In Cambodia, Phnom Penh fell in mid-April. Saigon fell at the month's end. The frantic efforts to negotiate a peaceful transition went for naught. On May 1, the editorial page of the Wall Street Journal published Peter Kann's famous "Obituary for South Vietnam," which was one of the few pieces extolling the heroism of South Vietnam's often-mocked army. It was "not an army of bumblers and cowards," he wrote. "It was an army that stood and fought with great courage and competence on a few occasions you may remember, like the siege of An Loc. …

"It was an army that for years watched the Americans try to combat the Communists with every wonder of modern weaponry and which then, all too suddenly, was left to face the Communists with American-style tactics but without American-style resources. …" He conceded that the North Vietnamese were stronger. "But the stronger side is not necessarily the better side. ‘Better' becomes a question of values and much as I may respect Communist strength and stamina I cannot accept that the Spartan Communist society of North Vietnam is better than the very imperfect South Veitnamese society that I knew."

It was one of the few eulogies the free Vietnamese ever got. And then a region with a population as large as eastern Europe was thrown into the decades of a still-dark night of communist tyranny. Hundreds of thousands were thrown into re-education camps. Millions died in the killing fields of Cambodia. The outpouring of boat-people from Vietnam astonished the world. In 1979, the summit of industrialized countries meeting at Tokyo was forced to set aside its agenda to deal with the crisis of the millions seeking to escape the communism to which they'd been abandoned

The Democrats have a lot to answer for.

Something Else

Today is the anniversary of the Beer Hall Putsch.

Kind of fitting given that the doctrine of the so-called Democratic Party is basically National Socialism without the Aryan frills. (Although anti-semitism seems to be making a comeback.)

Thought for the Day

Speaking for myself only I would like to say OH SHITTTT!!!!!

This is what happens when Congress spends like there is no tomorrow. Guess what? Tomorrow is here, now.

This is what happens when the federal government can't be bothered to properly fortify our southern border. How many citizens were disgusted? How many illegal immigrants illegally voted in this election?

This is what happens when the act of treason is not prosecuted. Congratulations assholes! The Party of Treason now owns the Congress.

The Republican Party is just too fucking nice to effectively govern.

Now the Lenin-wanna-bees are taking over on the anniversary of Lenin's coup.

Gee. Thanks for nothing guys!

Falsehood of the Day

Nancy Pelosi at the Huffington Post promises:

If you honor Democratic candidates with your vote today, in the first hundred hours of a Democratic Congress: We will restore civility, integrity, and fiscal responsibility to the House of Representatives.

Which sounds about as credible as Hitler proclaiming:

If you honor National Socialist candidates with your vote today, in the first hundred hours of a National Socialist Reichstag: We will restore civility, integrity, and racial tolerance in the Reichstag.

And if you can believe that then I can get you a great deal on the Brooklyn Bridge.

Thought for the Day

Today is the anniversary of Lenin's coup d'etat in Saint Petersburg.

Let's not let the Lenin-wanna-bees do it to us here today.

Depravity of the Day.

I'll start with a couple of definitions from the New Devil's Dictionary:

Liberal, Classical: Someone who believes that the rest of Mankind has something better to do. Believes that the helpless and innocent should be protected and deeply cares about the condition of Western Civilization.

Liberal, Modern: Someone who believes the the rest of Mankind has nothing better to do. Believes that the helpless and innocent should be attacked and deeply hates Western Civilization.

The reason I brought them up is that Leo Pusateri over at Blogs For Bush has brought up a rather unpleasant subject:

Doctors are urging health regulators to consider allowing the "active euthanasia" of severely disabled newborn babies.

The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecology has put forward the option of permitting mercy killings of the sickest infants to a review of medical ethics.

It says "active euthanasia" should be considered for the overall benefit of families who would otherwise suffer years of emotional and financial suffering.

Deliberate action to end infants' lives may also reduce the number of late abortions, since it would allow women the chance to decide whether their disabled child should live.

"A very disabled child can mean a disabled family. If life-shortening and deliberate interventions to kill infants were available, they might have an impact on obstetric decision-making," the college writes in a submission to the Nuffield Council on Bioethics.

In other words, these so-called doctors are calling for the murder of helpless infants.

It's kind of hard to stand up for the freedom of speech when that freedom is abused in order to call for the murder of the innocent.

We should also note the use of a qualifier as means of nullifying the meaning of a word. Thus the prefix "bio" is used to convert the field of ethics from a set of rules for living the Human mode of life into a set of excuses to destroy Human life.

I have to wonder if these so-called doctors are fully paid-up on their NSDAP dues.

Why do Leftists have such a problem with tyrannicide?

We must take into account the fact that the Left's ideal of society is one where the State controls all aspects of human life and where the refusal to submit to the will of the State is a punishable offense. Punishments which include the penalty of death.

In short, the Left seeks to establish a state of tyranny.

This may explain why they have a problem with those who practice tyrannicide.

Thought for the Day

Having a Democrat whine about someone else engaged in the sexual abuse of others, being corrupt, or having a dictatorial lust for power, is like Larry Flynt complaining about someone else being obscene.

This thought for the day is brought to you by the number three and the Minbari letter "Tri."

Mouth Dropping of the Day

The Bolshevik Broadcasting Collective brings us this bit of moral excrement:

The environmental costs of long-distance trade need to be properly taken into account... We must manage international trade in a way which is socially and environmentally sustainable, working towards global agreement on a raft of measures such as taxation on fuel and import tariffs designed to support home-grown businesses... This will help offset the environmental damage caused by ships like the Emma Maersk plying international waters filled with MP3 players and plastic toys.

-- Dr Caroline Lucas, Green Party MEP for South East England.

What, afraid that one of those container ships will bring in the rope that your ass will be hanged with?

Voluntary commerce is a distinctive part of the human mode of life. To oppose commerce is to oppose human life. And those who are part of the opposition to human life, which is an inherent part of being in a Green Party, are nothing less than enemies of Mankind.

And we have no obligation to debate the enemies of Mankind, our moral obligation is to identify them and destroy them. Totally.

Thought for the Day

One thing we have to watch out for in the coming election is the old graveyard vote. While Chicago, Illinois is most noted for its army of dead voters, the state of Massachusetts has the fourth oldest group of dead voters thus possibly explaining the continued presence of such trash as Ted Kennedy and John Kerry in the U.S. Senate.

(Florida's earliest graveyard constituency only speaks Spanish and is therefore ineligible, the Jamestown colony in Virginia never developed into a big city, and North Carolina's first settlement simply disappeared.)

Of course with a written language and civil records being a requirement for the registration of undead voters, we in the United States can only take a distant second place to the Mexican Republic, whose civil societies predates the European presence on this continent by centuries.

The dominance of dead voters, including Aztec Emperors, in Mexico may explain the only recently broken dominance of the PRI (Institutional Revolutionary Party) in Mexican elections.

Well, that's my civics lesson for the day.

Update at 1820 hrs CST:

MigueldowninMexico at Little Green Footballs has just informed me that Mexico uses a photo I.D. card system to prevent cheating in their elections.

When did they start doing that?

Democrats Being Democrats

3 Wood at Lgf wrote:

Having grown up in Chicago, I see the resistance, mainly by the left to voter - ID's, as their fear that this would eliminate the Democratic Party machine tactic known as "vote early - vote often". With just a cards with printed names on them and very accomodating election judges, a group of people can travel from precinct to precinct all election day long and cast multiple votes under multiple names. And I'm not talking about things I've heard are done, I'm talking about things I've seen done with my own eyes. That is how the Chicago machine overcomes a strong downstate Republican vote almost every election. My parents, who were staunch party Democrats, used to brag about how they helped rig the vote in Chicago doing that.

I remember my dear late Mother being pissed the day somebody pulled some old ballot boxes out of Lake Michigan years ago when a pier was being replaced (which is where a lot of Nixon ballots apparently ended up on election night in 1960) cause she said they should have had sense enough to dump the stuff farther out where it would never be found. Boy were they unhappy when I grew up and became a conservative. I'm sort of the apostate in the family.

HeatherRadish at LGF wrote:

When my dad was in school in Chicago in 1976, he was offered $10 a precinct to ride one of those buses. He had 1.5 kids and my mom stayed home with us, but he didn't need the money that bad.

3 Wood wrote in reply to HeatherRadish:

Still goes on to this day. Drive by any precinct polling place in Chicago this election and you will see some smarmy looking guy with bad breath and 3 days beard growth standing on the public sidewalk just outside the door. That will be the ward-heeler. He will have a pocket full of voters cards ready to hand out anytime you need one to vote - Democratic of course. He will also be keeping track of who has shown up to vote so far and who has not. You can literally be walking by, a vistor from out of town, and they will shove a voter card into your hand and push you towards the door. But you never hear of this from the Chicago newspapers like the Sun Times and the Tribune.

My question is: CAn we now do away with the polite fiction that the Democratic Party is a legitimate political faction and start treating it like the gang of traitors and thieves that it really is?

Think Of It As Idiocy In Action

Today is World Vegan Day.

It is an occasion when a bunch of basically stupid and useless folks can strut about and pretend to be morally superior to the rest of us. Actually they do it every day but today they get to be really hyper about it.

For example, did you know that humans use much less land and water if they eat crops directly rather than through the intermediary of an animal? This is because farmed animals consume much more protein than they produce: most of the protein from their vegetable feeds is used for the animals'’ bodily functions and not converted to meat, eggs or milk. More water and land is therefore needed to grow crops for farmed animals to eat, leading to deforestation, water scarcity, soil erosion and increased pesticide use.

Let's start with the fact that not all land used for pasture can be converted for grain or veggie production. Let's also note that a large part of what meat animals are fed, such as hay and shredded corn stalks, is waste material from food production for humans. The elimination of meat production would actually require an increase in the use of land for farming in order to make up for the deficit in food production.

In other words, the Vegan propagandists are engaging in mental inversion mode as usual.

And let's face it, a diet without meat is unbalanced. The vegans that I've met tend to resemble socialist labor camp inmates without the labor camp haircut. And they tend to do stupid things like voting for Democrats or neocommunist trash like the Green Party.

What are your questions on this block of instruction?
