One thing I have noticed over the course of my working life is that people on the political left, those who call themselves progressives, are in no way generous. As both a pizza delivery driver and a cab driver I have clearly noticed that that leftists simply do not tip. And when they want something done they don't donate their own money to the cause but instead insist that others be forced to pay for their generosity. So how do they respond when someone is actually generous with their own money?
They throw a fit.

The Left has been silent on the murder of 100 million people by various Communist regimes. Why would they be bothered by a few preventable deaths by cancer?
