Groan!

Christmas Day is supposed to be a day of rest.  Of course back when I used to work as a uniformed security officer I would always grab every overtime shift available.

I had never heard the word "twit" before I began watching Monty Python's Flying Circus on the local public television station as I was growing up.  When the Twitter service became available I avoided it because I associated the name of the service with the concept of "twit."

As reported by Twitchy.com, the so-called comic Sarah Silverman has unintentionally confirmed the validity of my decision. Fortunately spittle cannot be transmitted through the Internet.

First Silverman addresses us -- the real citizens who accept responsibility for the armed defense of ourselves, our families, and our nation -- with an apparently new pejorative term: Gun Boners.

Isn't that special?

The fundamental rule of argument is to address your audience with respect.  This is the case especially with those who clearly disagree with your proposition.  But then Liberals rarely had respect for their opponents.  Or for their victims.

Silverman had also spoke of Pope Francis as an authority in this case.  Which is complete nonsense as Liberals as a rule hold the Papacy and Catholicism in utter contempt.  And in the actual context of the statement actually made by the Pope it clearly appears that he doesn't understand that the cause of the problem is not the presence of arms but the ideology of the factions, that being the differing interpretations of the doctrine of Islam.

But then the truth is never true to a Liberal.
