Socialogical Data Point

From a John Weeks hobby page:

Note that the bridge is covered with graffiti. I only remember two bridges over the Mississippi River that had any graffiti, and both are located on entrance roads into the Leech Lake Indian Reservation. No commentary here, just a reporting of the facts.

I'm pretty sure there was graffiti on the old I-35W bridge before it went bye-bye.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled reality.

Hi,

Interesting that you found my writings on the Mississippi River Bridges in the headwaters area. I had just finished that section of my on-line book, so it was still warm off of the virtual printing press.

I have photographic proof that there was no graffiti on the old I-35W bridge. There may have been 2 or 3 others that had a single tag or a spot where a tag was painted over, but the only bridges with more than one tag are those located on entrances to Indian Reservations.

Again, I am not commenting on Indian folks, nor am I passing judgement. I myself have a great-grandmother who is full blood native.

Thanks,

-john-
