In Stock

Once upon a time ago, about the time I was posting the ASCII text versions of The Resister on Usenet, I bought an AK-47 chambered in 5.56 NATO.  It had the thumb hole stock mandated at the time by our masters in Washington.  As a former combat rifleman I took it upon myself to properly zero in the sights on the weapon.  As I was doing this at the Moon Valley range down in Eden Prairie I was rudely interrupted.  It appeared that a scraggly young man wanted to sell me a folding stock for the AK-47.  I said no.  He repeated his offer.  I repeated my refusal.  Eventually he got the point.  First, I actually had no interest in a folding stock for the rifle.  The folding stock for the Ak-47 series rifle is copied from the MP-38/MP-40 series machine pistols issued by the Wehrmacht.  They are inherently unstable and were used both by the Wehrmacht and the Soviets to shorten the weapon for carriage within an aircraft or armored vehicle. An acceptable trade off for them but not for me.  Second. folding stocks at the time were illegal.  I was not about to ruin a weapon by installing an inferior stock simply for the sake of disobeying our self appointed masters.  The proper way to deal with a master is to air out his head.  By his demeanor and his insistence on selling the stock to my unwilling self I concluded that this fellow was a stooge for the BATF.  I refused to fall into the trap.  A simple bit of common sense can go a long way.

Punishing a man for an act he did not commit is unjust. Imprisoning a man for speaking the truth is tyrannical. Disarming the citizens -- who are the sovereign authority of the nation -- is treason.  To say anything more would require the extensive use of barracks language.  There's no such thing as "common sense gun control" those who are in favor of banning firearms are enemies of Humanity and should be treated in the Nuremberg style, from the neck until dead.  And there's no limit to what a Statist can do to a disarmed victim.

Thoughts For The Day

A moron once called me a murderer.  I was a member of the National Rifle Association at the time and was attending the annual meeting and she was leaning out of a car window and yelled at me as I was walking on the sidewalk in Downtown Minneapolis to the meeting.

So how many people (apart from old school Klansmen) has the NRA killed?

NONE.

How many people have Marxists (who took power from an elected government in November of 1917) killed?

Over 3000 a day on average.

And remember, killing a Marxist isn't an act of murder, it's an act of self defense.

Book Review

Here's a repost of a very important book review originally published in THE RESISTER.  If you haven't read it, you should.

The Ominous Parallels--The End of Freedom in America. Leonard Peikoff. New York: NAL Penguin, Inc., 1982. Library of Congress Catalog Card Number: 83-60247. ix + 316 pages plus references and index.. Soft cover $10.00.

Reviewed by Red Barchetta

This book asks: "What caused Nazi Germany?" Unlike lesser attempts to explain that blood bath, The Ominous Parallels answers: "The same philosophies that are prevalent in the United States of America." Dr. Peikoff argues convincingly that in both countries the intellectual, educational and political leadership share, explicitly or implicitly, the same core ideologies. These ideologies submit that reality is subjective--a malleable illusion; emotions are the proper guide to human action--especially the emotions of race and the tribe, which cannot be understood by outsiders; self-sacrifice for the sake of others should usurp a man's own desires--and the state must take any necessary action to ensure that sacrifice. These ideologies demand that "individual selfishness" does not obstruct the path of "the public interest."

From Part One, Chapter One: " 'To be a socialist,' says Goebbels, 'is to submit the I to the thou; socialism is sacrificing the individual to the whole.' By this definition, the Nazis practiced what they preached. They practiced it at home and then abroad. No one can claim that they did not sacrifice enough individuals."

The underlying theme in The Ominous Parallels is how philosophy shapes cultures, and reading this book, it is difficult to escape a feeling of hopeless dread; of being caught in racing floodwaters and swept madly toward a destruction you are helpless to prevent. Given the theme of this nation's descent into fascism, and Dr. Peikoff's uncompromising method of proving it, that is the proper effect.

The conclusion of The Ominous Parallels is not that we are helplessly destined to go to the same lengths down the same road as Germany. The conclusion is that it is time for us to choose whether or not we will; that if we fail to consciously decide, the decision will be made for us. Contrary to the bleating of irrationalists then or now, it is only a coherent philosophy of reason and individual rights which will give us the means to choose not to become our own slaughterhouse.

Dr. Peikoff shows that such a philosophy is not prevalent in the United States because, although this nation was unique in being founded on philosophic ideals (rather than arbitrary land-grabs and tribal warfare), it was ultimately lacking a coherent detailed formulation of those ideals, as well as the Aristotelian philosophers to create one. Independence from Europe was only won physically--not ideologically. "The land of poets and philosophers was brought down by its poets and philosophers," says Peikoff. The resulting bowel movement of docile Nazi sheep who obeyed their Fuhrer because they obeyed their philosophers could indeed be us, for their philosophers--their pragmatists and Kants, their Hegels and Marxes--are ours
by adoption.

We do have one trump card, "...the philosophical breach between the American people and the intellectuals." In Germany, the intellectuals and the people were united in ideology, feeling at home in their country and with each other. This, says Peikoff, is not yet the case in America. Peikoff's book will help to keep it that way.

A  shorter version of the book, titled The Cause Of Hitler's Germany is now in print,

Where Do These People Come From?

Hugh Hewitt reported on his blog:
Today, on the floor of the United States Senate, Barbara Boxer referred to the Madrid bombings as a "rail accident." Honest. A rail accident. Boxer is a Senate accident. What an embarrassment.
I would suppose that dumbass Senator Boxer believes that Pearl Harbor was an aviation mishap.

I once told the fellow who hired me at FLS (they did telephone fundraising for the GOP) that I'd "eat my gun" before I would do anything to help the Democratic Party.  The fellow at FLS thought I was a bit over the top at the time.

Explaination

Why does evil exist?

We may not like it, but the members of the SS, the Church of Scientology, the Democratic Party, and the Muslim Brotherhood, believed they were good people and doing virtuous acts, even though many of those acts were kidnappings, murders, along with oppression in general.  Apart from a handful of psychopaths the ones who carried out the Holocaust were under the illusion that what they were doing was for the good of the German nation.  And every effort was made to construct and maintain that illusion.  Evil people seriously believe they are good.  The mustache twirling villain is essentially fictional.

We make fun of Islamic Rage Boy and he believes that he's a good guy, but in objective reality he's  clearly evil.

Les On Censorship

The one word that tyrants, and those who seek to become tyrants, do not want to hear is the word "NO."  Even to suggest that a person has the right to say NO is the equivalent of speaking a death sentence to tyrants and wanna-be tyrants.

Climate Change

Let's look at the concept of climate change, the terrestrial biosphere is a dynamic environment within a dynamic universe.  Changes of climate happened naturally and will continue to happen naturally.  There's simply no way around it.  The idea that human action is the single cause of climate change is absolute nonsense.  It's nothing more than an excuse for the enlargement of political power and adversarial political actions against the productive people of this nation.  It's nothing more than an excuse for tyranny.

About Climate Change

We live in a dynamic part of a dynamic universe.  The change in the Terrestrial climate may have effected the evolution of mankind.  And there's nothing we can do about it.  That’s right.  Climate change is a fundamental fact of nature.  It has occurred naturally, and it'll happen NATURALLY, and there's nothing we can do about it.  The demand for the unlimited power to stop climate change is pure nonsense.   It's also an act of pure tyranny and therefore intolerable to us.
