Anniversary

On this day in 1945 a plutonium fission bomb was dropped on the city of Nagasaki in Japan.

Some morons, who refuse to believe that there is a fundamental difference between "peace" and "submission", continue to whine, moan, and groan about it.

Rational people, myself included, don't have a problem with it.

On Bombing

On this day in 1945 Colonel Paul Tibbets flying the B-29 Superfortress ENOLA GAY dropped an enriched uranium fission bomb on Hiroshima, Japan.

Some people have a problem with this.

I don't.

From Xerxes99 at Fark.com as a caption to this photograph:

Nothing more beautiful in the world if you ask me...Especially when you get to witness trembling Japanese tourists taking pictures of it.

It's amazing how many problems can be solved with the application of weapons grade fissionables.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled reality.

Anniversary

Some Americans, British, and Canadians visited Northern France on this day in 1944 and gave the Wehrmacht a very bad day.  They're still talking about it today.

Anniversary

On this day in 1945 the Second World War ended in Europe.  The war in Europe didn't end on the Soviet "Victory Day."

The Second World War ended in Europe when Hitler ran out of grandfathers and boys to shove between himself and the Soviet Army.

Veterans

There are less than one hundred veterans of the Second World War.  Unfortunately one of those veterans is George Soros.  He now postures as a Jew but during the Second World War he was a member of the SS.
