The Man Who Fell To Earth

Once upon a time ago before I read any work by Ayn Rand I saw The Man Who Fell To Earth starring David Bowie. I didn’t enjoy sitting through it and the one scene that stuck with me depicted a nihilist denouncing innovation. Having never read a word of real philosophy at the time I merely saw the character as being stupid.

After the recent death of Mr. Bowie a local film society held a showing of the film. I won’t claim the excuse of brain damage in deciding to see it. I had actually forgot how truly awful it was.

It wasn’t just the fact that the director was a no talent hack with delusions of cleverness.

Nor was it his insistence on using Manhattan skyscrapers as an anatomical reference along with inserting two pointless scenes that stop just short of actual pornography.

No.

Every second of the film was an expression of the hatred of human life and after only half an hour I walked out.

Remember the nihilist? When I originally saw the film I could not understand how any character could be so stupid. I now understand that in denouncing any improvement in the tools used by man he was denying the value of human life.

An Answer

In a comment on The Underground Bunker, a site critical of Scientology, I compared the credibility of the CoS with the famous press organ of the Soviet State:

When the Soviet era edition of Pravda (Truth) reported that Yuri Gagarin had orbited the Earth aboard Vostok 1 it was a rare instance their publishing a fact. The CoS can't even do that.

Someone then asked a question:

In spite of clear evidence that it's toxic some people continue to believe in enforced economic equality which was the doctrine that served as the foundation of the Soviet state. And because the Soviet state enforced a falsehood it had to act in an adversarial fashion with respect to Humanity in General. Like the Church of Scientology the Soviet State must lie to everyone.

The continued fail of a cartoon character to perform a magic trick is funny.  The suffering that will be inflicted by the insane Senator Sanders and his followers is nothing short of appalling.  And most importantly it is absolutely preventable.

Atlas Shrugged and Starship Troopers were written as works of fiction.  But now they appear in some respects to works of nonfiction.

Of the two leading candidates of the insane party the first makes President Nixon look like an honest guy.  And the other makes Bulwinkle the Moose look like an intelligent being.

Unfortunately the lead candidate of the sane party is a pragmatic narcissistic demagogue, which is the last thing we need after the systematic malice of the Big Zero.

During the summer of 1976 I read a book and changed the way I saw myself and other people.

Robert A. Heinlein in his novel STARSHIP TROOPERS put forth the radical idea that adulthood was not only a physical state but a distinctly moral one as well.  And while physical maturity was obvious to an objective observer the moral state was not.  Given that the mentally and morally immature were not able to rationally perform the duties of citizenship he proposed to establish a system for sorting out the able from the unable.  As it's impossible to compel moral maturity what's required is voluntary system to separate functional citizens from the dysfunctional losers.  While Heinlein did present his system of Federal Service in altruistic terms it does allow the separation of moral dead weights, such as the losers above, from mentally and morally active people.


* And that's an insult to children.

** Furthermore the slave collar on one at the right is not a sign of rebellion but a clear sign of submission to a master and shooting both of them is an absolute waste of ammunition.

What can I say?

The leading presidential candidates for the other party are a crone who makes Richard Nixon look like a honest guy and a senile old man who has completely ignored the political history of the last century.  And their supporters stand as the most idiotic, ignorant, and insane people in this nation.  And that's assuming that they actually exist.

They call themselves the Democratic Party.

Why is that?

Democracy is the form of state that claims unlimited power from a mandate from an unlimited mess.

For those who desire absolute power Democracy is an ideal form of the state.

But in reality authority in any area is based on actual knowledge in that field.  Thus political authority must be based on knowledge in the field of politics.   But in the democratic form of the state the voter is not required to know anything on the subject of ethics, or politics, or in the case of Chicago to actually exist.

So why should we as Americans be subject to the will of Democrats?

WE SHOULD NOT.

Democrats in general have shown that they are not at all concerned about the actual facts of reality,   Nor are they concerned about the consequences of their actions.  That we will suffer and die as a result of their actions means absolutely nothing to them.

So why should we submit to them, let alone allow them to exist?

WE SHOULD NOT AT ALL.

There was a time when physical growth was the indication of adulthood and this perception was generally correct.  But in adulthood is a state of mind that in the so-called Progressive era has been negated through the corruption of the educational process.  Instead of seeing people and things as they are those indoctrinated in Progressive nonsense indulge in fantasies and make decisions based solely on falsehoods.  

Here an outright lunatic is denouncing sane people for not buying the pure nonsense emitted by the propagandists. 

The facts are that no two people are identically productive and there will be a difference in economic effect.  Weather has been and will continue to be driven by natural causes and is completely out of Human control.  And the species Homo Sapiens in the political context must be seen as a single race--the idea of morally and politically distinctive races was a fundamental cause of the lethal nightmare of the last century.

Yet the believers in these and other falsehoods demand that we submit to their insanity.

Really?

 Not only No but Hell No.

Knowledge is the foundation of Authority in every field of life and Politics is no exception.  Yet the deceived, the willfully ignorant, and the outright insane demand that we remain silent and submit to their nonsense without question, never mind the obviously lethal effects.  The truth means nothing to them, only their feelings, and never mind the bodycount. 

The fact is they know nothing and thus have no authority.  We are under no obligation to submit to them and if they can't live with that then they won't.

Do I have to lecture on the practicality of semi-automatic  versus selective fire weapons?  Or the sheer idiocy of deliberately damaging any component of a weapon?

The absolute and unpleasant fact of reality is that a serious fraction of our so-called fellow citizens don't think.  They have been indoctrinated by our so-called education system to hold feelings as superior to facts and to pursue emotional states over rational thought.

It's not that they are stupid or ignorant--it's worse--they are willfully insane. 

And because they are uneducated there is no understanding that  negative actions have negative consequences.  In this case that the to enact an invalid law--such as the disarmament of citizens--will cause the deaths of actually innocent people.  And as during the Century of Death* there will be no shortage of those who are willing to wrongfully run up a bodycount.

And this all to allow a bunch of damned fools to feel good about themselves without regard to the consequences.  To feel superior about themselves while standing on a pile of innocent victims.


We must recognize that warm body Democracy**  does not work.  The fact is that all forms of authority are based on knowledge and political authority is no exception.  But in the present system political authority is granted to any warm body without regard to their the actual state of knowledge. As a result some warm bodies have traded their votes for a material object such as an IPad or a wad of cash. Or worse they have traded their votes for the warm and fuzzy feeling of having been compassionate.

My solution to the problem is simply proper education in the obligations of citizenship.

The course would be similar to a driver education course as presently taught. The first part of the class covers The Constitution, the proper functions of each branch of government, the function of each clause and amendment, the duties of the citizen as a member of the sovereign authority of the nation, and what is expected to happen when the Federal Government enters the failure mode.

The second part of the course covers the function and use of the instrument of political authority, the personal weapon. This covers rifle marksmanship and maintenance. Also covered is the basic organization and tactics of the citizen militia unit.

While the citizenship course will not be mandatory, completion and a passing grade will be required to exercise the authority to vote.

*My term for the last century with the dominance of toxic ideologies.

The  Left cheers as every new manifestation of barbarism rises and slaughters good people and innocent children. The chattering classes willingly support and serve the enemies of mankind and will viciously slander and condemn those who dare to raise a hand in defense of the defenseless. They sit on their fat asses in progressive coffee houses and cook up paranoid conspiracy theories about how Christian Conservatives are planning to exterminate their own particular and pathetic social fringe group.

But if the stupid conspiracy theories of the Left were true they would all be dead.

Let’s see -- if rational people were to treat the Left the way that Great Comrade Stalin treated anyone he suspected of being an opponent let alone someone who was an actual opponent -- would any of these pathetic lunatics still be breathing?  Let alone continuing to rant like a mob of mentally disconnected lunatics who are off their medications?

No, I wouldn't think so.

If Conservatives dealt with the adherents of Modern Liberalism the way the Left has dealt with humans in general whenever the Left has obtained unrestrained power, there wouldn't be any Liberals left standing. Of the universities and the urban centers of Liberalism there would be nothing left but smoking ruins, and there would mass graves from coast to coast.

We need to face the fact that the present day Left, like the unschooled barbarians who plagued civilization before them, are essentially parasites. If the Huns or the Mongols were to take "no" for an answer to their demand for food and other material goods they would die very quickly. Control of the productive population is essential for their survival and well being. Compulsion, taking things and persons by force, is inherently necessary to the parasite manner of existence. Those who resisted the parasites had to be killed as an object lesson for others.

The Left, our present-day literate post-Marxist barbarians, not only need material support they also need spiritual support as well. They need to feel that their victims are not only submitting to them today but will do so tomorrow as well.

Barbarian chieftains and tribal witch-doctors demanded degrading and often dangerous acts of worship from their subjects, up to and including human sacrifice, in order to assure themselves that they would still have a roof (or a tent) over their heads and food to eat the next day. Those refused to obey were worked over by the goon squad or simply killed.

In the classrooms, editorial offices, and coffee shops of the Left the demand is for unquestioned agreement without regard to the actual facts of reality. The self-styled intellectuals of the Left are the first to demand “speech codes” and other forms of censorship lest they be identified as frauds and poseurs and subsequently bounced out of their comfortable ivory towers, no longer insulated from a real world that demands real thought and real labor.

The Left, being dependent upon others for their sustenance, must stand in opposition to the society of rational consent and openly support systems of compulsion, be it various species of Socialism or the witch-doctor rule of Islam, because to do otherwise is to condemn themselves to death.

If the Left would just die it would be nice.

I could say a number of things about this post but I would be missing the point.  Not only is this individual a collectivist he is a racial collectivist as well. He defines a person by their race and imparts beliefs and actions on them solely on that basis.

Racial characteristics are not chosen and therefore irrelevant to human actions. What is subject to choice is a person’s beliefs and the actions derived from those beliefs. And for the record McVeigh himself was a racial collectivist who rejected human rights and human reason. As a result he rejected human reality. The actual Patriot Movement at that time fully rejected McVeigh, his beliefs, and his actions. This rejection was based on the actual moral values that were actually chosen.

And speaking of language the words “gun nut” is a pejorative term used to dehumanize a firearms owner and justify lethal acts of state violence against them.

This poster apparently feels good about his own murderous fantasies. Given what Hubbard wrote in his work the Science of Survival he should feel right at home in the Church of Scientology.

According to the Daily Mail the San Bernardino shooting appears to be another case of the Sudden Jihad Syndrome.  Of course this won't stop The Big Zero and those who orally gratify him from demanding the systematic disarming of the citizens of United States and the subsequent death toll.

"Upstat" in Official Scientology means an improvement in a statistic, such as an increase in membership or money received for services.  Because there is a long running decrease in membership numbers and with it a drop in money taken in by the church the current management has begun an effort to create an illusion of expansion by purchasing and refurbishing larger building in major urban centers.  The apparent purpose of the "Ideal Org" program is to create an illusion of expansion to  the internal membership.  Although the membership is directed to believe the leadership without question a human mind requires actual sense data in order independently verify a specific belief or in this case to maintain the illusion.

Although the doctrine of Islam commands aggression on nonbelievers the Islamic State is under attack from all sides and is losing territory and subjects to exploit.  In order to maintain the illusion of progress, and appear to be "upstat" an effort must be made to attack visible targets outside of control zone of the Islamic State.  Thus the recent attacks in Paris and other locations in Europe.

'ISIS isn't necessarily evil,' Dan Kimmel of Burnsville posted Saturday evening, when the world was still coming to grips with the Paris terrorist attacks that killed at least 129 people.

'It is made up of people doing what they think is best for their community. Violence is not the answer, though,' he added.

If consciousness is the process of identification then Kimmel clearly does not qualify as such.  And he certainly does not qualify for any public office, including as a trash collector.

Objectivism Versus Scientology:

In Objectivism an axiom is a statement that defines the base of knowledge and is a self evident truth. The three axioms of Objectivism are that Existence Exists, that Existence is Identity, and that Consciousness is Identification. The axioms of Objectivism flatly contradict Scientology in holding that the Universe existed prior to the evolution of consciousness. That things are what they are regardless of what one chooses to believe. And that to be conscious is to see things are they truly are without regard to the claims by an self-proclaimed authority figure. An Objectivist would clearly see that L. Ron Hubbard was putting out complete nonsense and therefore would be classed as a Supressive Person in the doctrine of Scientology.

Because it is a deliberate body of falsehoods created by a con artist Scientology must hold that the act of identification--which is to see things as they truly are--as something that must be forbidden and punished.  And in a world ruled by Scientologists the truly conscious must be be put down with lethal effect.

A law is a standing order to the apparatus of the state to carry out acts of force to specific persons under specific circumstances.   In a civilized society the legal code directs the government to protect the rights (such as Life, Liberty, and Property) of the citizens and legal residents of a nation.  Under barbarism the apparatus of the state is directed to attack and plunder the subject population.  And Islam is barbarism on steroids.

Islam and the mass of contradictions that is claimed to be a system of law was the product of a thoroughly depraved individual.  Sharia is the codification of the nihilistic lust for power and plunder of the false prophet Mohammed whose moral values are essentially that of a predatory animal pretending to be a human being. 

I could describe Mohammed as a walking piece of excrement but that would be an insult to excrement.

TC: He's not pining! He’s passed on! This prophet is no more! He has ceased to be! He’s expired and gone to meet his maker! He’s a stiff! Bereft of life, he rests in peace! If you hadn't nailed him to the chair he'd be pushing up the daisies! His metabolic processes are now history! He’s off the twig! He’s kicked the bucket, He’s shuffled off his mortal coil and moved on to Target Two!! THIS IS AN EX-PROPHET!!

Beliefs Matter

A robber was asked why he robbed banks and answered because that’s where the money was.  So why does mass murder happen in gun-free zones?  Because that’s where the unarmed victims are.

We must remember that a firearm is a tool and is the instrument of human action. 

The cause of human actions are the beliefs of the actors.  The mass slaughters of the last century didn’t happen because of the weapons.  The Holocaust wasn’t caused by a supply of insecticide, the National Socialists were acting on their beliefs.  The murderer in Oregon didn’t kill innocent people because he had a gun, he killed them because of his beliefs.

Of course the nomenklatura are whining about the gun because the last thing they want is to judged on their beliefs.

 While going through some old files I found the full version of a review of Andrew Morton's biography of Diana Spencer that was submitted for publication in The Resister.  But the editor rewrote it to drop the philosophy and even got her maiden name wrong so here it is without further editing.

DIANA: A Wasted Life

One of the things I do for my own selfish pleasure is to take a sketchbook and a drafting pencil and draw.  For the last fifteen years the second favorite subject of my work was Diana, the Princess of Wales. [1]  So when Andrew Morton's biography of Diana was originally published I purchased a copy.  It took me four months to work up the nerve to finish the first chapter.  I did not (and no rational egoist could) enjoy the spectacle of seeing a soul being crushed by a band of witch doctors. [2]

To properly become an adult, a child must gain moral knowledge, to know what human life is and how to live it.  What Diana received as a child was close to pure poison.  Her parents sent Diana to a boarding school, the Church of England's equivalent of a Dewey Camp.  Here she was pounded with the doctrines that selflessness was the moral ideal, that sacrifice and obedience were virtues, that independent judgement was evil, that her mind was impotent to deal with material existence, and that the non-existent (God and Heaven) was superior to that which exists (Man and the Earth).  Her mind thus mangled, it should have been no surprise that her life would be mangled as well.

With her intellectual and moral development arrested in childhood, Diana became a Second Hander, someone who avoids moral judgement and is dependent of others for guidance.  To avoid judgement is to suspend consciousness, it is to effectively shut down the mind and to enter the mental equivalent of a state of death.  With her mind snuffed out it should not have been a surprise to anyone that Diana would shortly be physically snuffed out.

Diana was told that the royal family was the pinnacle of civilized society.  A rational person would have seen British royalty as a useless remnant of a barbaric tradition, and that the monarch had become nothing more than a hand puppet for ruling party.  No sane woman would condemn any of her children to such a fate.

During her engagement Diana discovered that her fiancee was a pragmatist who had an active sexual affair with an already married woman and who had no intention of breaking off the affair.  A rational woman would have dumped the the snivelling piece of hominid garbage on the spot, Diana asked her sisters for advice and was told to go through with the marriage out of duty. [3]

As a second hander, Diana had no self esteem and was dependent on others for advice and approval, she valued what others told her to value.  This led to her constant pursuit of public attention and her spending an absurd amount of time being photographed hugging crippled children and walking biohazards. [4]  Her capacity for judgement paralyzed, Diana paid for guidance from psychics and astrologers and even took direction from her own sons.  It was with the approval of a psychic and her sons that Diana entered a close [nudge nudge] relationship with the Egyptian playboy Dodi al Fayed.

Dodi al Fayed was the unproductive son of a pull peddler who lived on an allowance, routinely bounced checks, and manipulated women.  A rational woman would have screamed and ran away.  Dodi also was in the habit of bribing limousine drivers to radically violate (100+ MPH) local speed limits. [5] Left to his own devices, Dodi al Fayed was a top contender for the Darwin Award. [6] 

Even if a rational woman were not aware of Dodi's other vices, she would have seen his open contempt for his own life as cause for alarm.  But on the advice of others Diana put her trust in a whim-worshipping third world savage, and as a consequence paid the ultimate price.

Diana was an excellent example of how not to live, she could have avoided the aforementioned horrors by simply saying: "No, this is wrong, I won't do it."  To do so requires a valid knowledge of moral standards, and for Diana to know that she was right to exercise moral judgement.  It is not enough to know that there is an alternative to a particular course of action, one must know that the alternative is morally correct. [7]
