A Blast From The Past

One of the consequences of the Wayne Hays (D-Ohio) and Elizabeth Ray scandal of 1975 was the creation of this button;

Of course a lot of Republican guys can type now too.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled reality.

Capitalist Thought Of The Day

There's a very simple solution to the Warren Buffet (supporter of Obama) problem.

Find out what businesses he owns and boycott them.

What are your questions on this block of instruction?

So Anyway

Have to do some bureaucracy today.

And The Glen is still at it:

1951. Can't use the international date line to get around once per day restrictions.

1955. No tagging the sleeping dragon with "Bilbo was here".

1959. No using the time machine to make Christ the keynote speaker at an atheist convention.

1960. I will not use the commune spell to find out who is John Galt.

1965. Can't send the party out on an epic quest just to get some alone time with the missus.

1966. Even if the rules allow it, can't play a viking mad scientist.

1969. I will keep all eldritch artifacts of ungodly power out of the reach of children.

1974. Despite what the rules say, you don't have to be a 19th level bard to play Alice's Restaurant Massacre.

And remember, you can only play it once a year at Thanksgiving.

So Anyway

One of the problems I have with driving a taxi on the night shift is having to go into bars in order to find the person who called for the cab.

I really don't like bars and I really hate drunks.

Last night I had to go into Nye's in Northeast Minneapolis to find the passenger. She was clearly drunk, and once she was in the car she exhibited grossly rude and hostile behavior. I dumped her out back where I found her.

Thought For The Day

I may only be a simple cab driver, but it looks like Leftism is basically an excuse to feel smugly superior to everyone else without regard to actual knowledge, actual ability, and the actual consequences of their actions.

So Anyway

After two years of driving a taxi cab on the day shift I switched over to driving on the night shift.

It's different.

Quote of the Day

Via Mrk Urbin:

“ [The Obama administration’s] problem is not that Fox isn’t a real news organization, their problem is that it is."

-- Rich Lowry

The problem the other side has with the truth is that it is the truth."

Thought For The Day

One thing the current occupant of the White House is doing is demonstrating the true value of an elite Ivy League collage education.

If I was sorting resumes in a hiring process I would have to put anyone with a degree from Harvard at the bottom of the pile.

What are your questions on this block of instruction?

Repeated Thought For The Day

From this blog on February 26, 2007:

Why do I feel like I'm tied up and gagged in the back seat of a car driven by someone who insists on driving on the wrong side of the road and who responds to the appearance of oncoming traffic by denying that it exists and stomping on the accelerator pedal?

Because that's how our present ruling class is behaving?

Today In History

On this day in 1945 the Japanese city of Hiroshima was visited by a B-29 Superfortress, the Enola Gay.

They're still talking about it.

Quote of the Day

Rory, which talk do you want first? "The birds and the bees" or "how much pressure does it take to rip body parts off a sex predator?"
