In reality individuals and groups that consistently practice the virtues of rationality and self discipline will always have an advantage over those who don't.  A fundamental part of rationality is the understanding that there's always something more to learn.  That life is THE learning experience.  What one doesn't know WILL hurt them.  The Southern white boy whose personal library consists solely of The Bible has a clear advantage over the African tribal chieftain or a Marxist.  I wouldn't trade being the former for being any of the latter.

The fact is that Judaism, with the idea of a parental God, is a fundamental part of our civilization.  Where pagan deities were malevolent or useless at best, God at the core of the Western Monotheist Tradition (WMT) is the creator, teacher, and the positive example that we try to follow in our own lives. 

So when someone attacks Jews they're attacking all of us.

A Reasonable Expectation And A Statement

Given the inherently predatory nature of Islam and its most consistent adherents I would expect that someone, some day, will drop a high yield nuke on the Grand Mosque and Kaaba then burn those abominations from the face of the Earth.  I don't see it as a possibility.  I see it as a certainty.  

I want the Russian Imperialist State to be crushed and rendered harmless.  I want Putin to be put down with a round in his head in the Soviet style.  The expansion of Imperial States are limited by by their modes of transportation and the opposition of other states.  Since present transportation technology allows forces to be transported anywhere on the planet the only effective limit to imperial expansion is superior firepower and the will to use it.

Update 0815: If I was younger (in my forties) I’d volunteer to be a defender of the Ukraine.

Oh, today I have a message for Soviet Leader (yes, that was deliberate) Comrade President Vladimir Putin.  When I was growing up here in Minnesota, a state of a western civilized nation, I was taught something about the practice of name calling:

“Sticks and stones may hurt my bones but names will never hurt me.”

Yes, I did just engage in name calling.  And no harm will ever come to you as a result, Comrade.  Except, perhaps in your head.

Anniversary

Today is the 100th anniversary of the day the Austro-Hungarian Empire declared war on the Kingdom of Serbia, thus officially initiating the First World War.

Now it's a matter of time before the Comrade Putin starts the Third World War.

Apparently there were 100 researchers of HIV who were to attend a conference in Australia on the Malaysian Airways flight that was shot down by the Russians over the Ukraine.  The estimate is that HIV research has back about a decade. If there were a proper international authority in existence then Putin and his stooges have just bought themselves a death sentence.  Unfortunately there isn't and won't be for the foreseeable future.

If we had a proper Republican in the White House then the USAF and other NATO air forces would now be on their way to the Ukraine to carry out SEAD* missions on the the so-called rebels who are responsible for this atrocity.  Unfortunately we are stuck with the Big Zero, a red diaper baby who clearly doesn't understand the duties of the office.

The Russians are occupying the Crimea.

Apparently there wasn't a Munich Conference.  Putin simply did it himself without diplomatic cover.

Let's give a big thank you to The Big Zero.

Prediction

The Russian prime minister (whose name is essentially irrelevant as he is simply a stooge) has announced the the new government in the Ukraine is not legitimate.

Gosh, what a surprise.

Here's my prediction of events to come:  There will be a meeting between Putin and either Comrade Kerry or The Big Zero himself. Something like a "Peace in our time" deal will be announced in due course. And then the Soviet Russian Army will invade the Ukraine.
