Found This In My Mail

I'm a subscriber to a mailing list that covers the subject of old Soviet movie cameras. This morning I found this message from that list in my mailbox:

Twenty years ago the same people who are now crying global warming got cover stories on the same magazines with gobal cooling-- simply because their time sample is too short. What they are doing amounts to prediciting the entire year's weather based on what things were like for the last two weeks.

I'm sorry you feel you are being "bullied," but having been trained in and working with structural demolition for the US military when I was younger, and having an engineering background, I well understand what is written and called "scientific evidence" about the buildings in 9/11 well enough to know it isn't either scientific or evidence.

Pose wild questions if you want, but having blown up a few buildings, under controlled circumstances, while filming them, I know the kinds, types, and amounts of explosives needed to drop a steel structure, and the time and prep needed. That's why the structural engineers and demolitions people admit that what happened is outside their experience, but that they know it was not imploded by plan.

"What you see" on a video may not really reflect what is happening, and much of demolitions is based on testing, trial and error, because things happen that do not seem logical, and even when filmed don't seem to match what we know we set up, what we did, and the amounts of material used.

I've supervised a crew shooting 2000fps+ of explosive tests on steel beams, and at the same time the event was also shot at 24fps-- I know it was the same event, but things happened and went away between frames on the 24fps that were vital to understanding what happened, and that were only recorded in part at 2000fps.

This forum should stick to a broad base of motion picture, and more narrowly to ex-Soviet cameras, but I can't let the global warming and we blew it up bit pass without calling it what it is.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled reality.

It depends on what kind of sandwich you put the cheese on.

Today in Pizzaland

On this day in 44 BC, a well known Roman politician had a run in with some pissed off members of the Senate.

Tyrannicide sucks, doesn't it JC?

As for me, the driver side door on my car had prematurely closed, banging my head and causing the frames of my glasses to gauge open a cut under the left eyebrow.

And there is now a visible bulge in the sidewall of the right-side front tire.

Other than that I had a good day at work.

The drive machanism for the mini-cassette recorder on my ancient Sony answering machine died today.

My brother was surprised that I was still using such an old clunker.

Thought for the Day

This is a very quick reply to an insane rant by a leftist on another blog:

One simply cannot argue with a raving lunatic.

There's no point in debating a leftist on individual issues because their overall epistomological methodology for all effects and purposes reverses the relationship between reality and fantasy. This leads to their well documented habit of systematically reversing good and evil.

And while there are many grounds for complaint on the part of the Right (the refusal to prosecute the participants in the Waco Massacre), we could hardly call the Bush Administration a failure.

And it is no suprise that a leftist would openly label someone who opposed them as "sub-human."

Members of the Left, like many pre-literate barbarians before them, are essentially moral and material parasites. They must reject the society of consent and seek power over those who can perform the work that sustains their lives. This drives them to see other persons as either tools they can use to further their own goals, or as organic waste to be disposed of.

So when a leftist declares someone to be "sub-human", that is in practice a precursor to the murder of that person.

The mass graves that are constantly being dug up in nations where the Left has obtained unrestrained power serve as the unrefutable proof of this fact.

So when I see a leftist bumper sticker on a car, the first thought that comes to my mind is "murderer."

If I have a complaint about the Right it is that we have shown infinite GOD-LIKE patience with the behavior of the Left.

Leftists can publically assault those who won't submit to them. Destroy property. And even call for the mutilation ("Lobotomies for Republicans") of opponents, and the murder of elected officials who are carrying out their constitutionally mandated duties, and we will not lift one finger to hurt a single hair on the otherwise useless head of a leftist.

I once told an editor that I worked for that we need not retorically dehumanise our opponents, all we have to do is accurrately describe their ideology and behavior because they have by their own choice dehumanised themselves.

I have to go to work now.
