I Need to Move Around More

I've driven to these states. Often in a barely functional car.

Another Thought On Howard "Dead Meat" Dean's Asinine Comment

It is far better to live as a free man in poverty than as a terrified animal in a gilded cage.

And a reminder, Hillary Clinton is still a miserable failure.

Weirdness for Today

Last night, while driving back to the Pizza Hut after making a delivery I began to channel Jiminy Cricket.

As I was crossing an intersection I saw several block to my a mass of local fire and police vehicles with their lights flashing. I said to myself, "nope, not going that way."

And then I began to sing:

I'm no fool
No sirree!
I'm going to live to be forty-three
'cause I'm no fool.
The other thing is that I'm already 43.

And yes, I do talk to myself when I'm alone in my car.

Thought For The Day

Cato the Youngest sez:

Sharia is arguably the most fucked-up legal code in history. It is at the very heart of the Arab/Muslim world's inability to compete in any way (except in bigotry) with the civilized world. It mandates a gender apartheid that is, and should be, disgusting to any civilized person.
As far as I can tell the Hell's Angels (or "Bargerites" in Friends In High Places) could come up with a better legal code.

Another Thought For The Day

Too bad the concept of Hell can only be taken on faith.

I'm beginning to believe that people who don't tip pizza delivery drivers are should spend eternity delivering pizza without receiving any gratuities.

Of course prior to making the acquaintence of a pizza driver eighteen years ago I was one of those awful people, That's why I'm doing pennance in this lifetime.

Thought For The Day

I keep having this mental image of guys from an Australian unit that was sent to Vietnam comparing their L1A1 rifles (7.62 x 61 MM) to the M16 rifles (5.56 x 45 mm)of the Americans:

"You call that a rifle? THIS is a rifle."

Howard Dean (I almost typed "Dead") Declares That Iraqui Standard Of Living Has Declined

"You can say that it's great that Saddam is gone and I'm sure that a lot of Iraqis feel it is great that Saddam is gone," said the former Vermont governor, an unflinching critic of the war against Iraq. "But a lot of them gave their lives. And their living standard is a whole lot worse now than it was before."

-- Associated Press
Wow! I didn't know that tyranny and terror were an inherent part of a high standard of living.

Only a bunch of despot-huggers would believe that the common people are better off living in fear of being fed feet-first into a plastic shredder and having their daughters and wives raped by the son of the dictator. The leaders of the Democratic Party (or more accurately, the Despotic Party) whine about how conservatives lack compassion but are invariably unconcerned about the victims of Socialist despots like Saddam, Stalin, Mao, Fidel, Pol Pot, and the North Korean father-son team the Kims.

Our present struggle is called The War on Terror. But terrorism is means to an end, the end being despotism, the state of unrestrained dictatorship. If we are truly serious about bringing an end to terrorism we must ultimately treat dictators, those who seek dictatorial power, and their present supporters like the self-styled Democratic Party as nothing less than Enemies of Mankind. Vermin who have no place in Human society.

"I do not choose to be a common man. It is my right to be uncommon - if I can. I seek opportunity - not security. I do not wish to be a kept citizen, humbled and dulled by having the state look after me. I want to take the calculated risk; to dream and to build, to fail and to succeed. I refuse to barter incentive for a dole. I prefer the challenges of life to the guaranteed existence; the thrill of fulfillment to the stale calm of utopia. I will not trade freedom for beneficence nor my dignity for a handout. I will never cower before any master nor bend to any threat. It is my heritage to stand erect, proud and unafraid; to think and act for myself, enjoy the benefit of my creations, and to face the world boldly and say, this I have done. All this is what it means to be an American." -- Dean Alfange

A Warning

Cato the Youngest has some advice for his fellow citizens

If President Bush is not re-elected, my advice to my fellow Americans is to move away from the largest cities ( > 1,000,000 population) and any dangerous chemical or nuclear facilities, avoid large gatherings of people, whenever possible, and lay in sufficient stocks of food, water, etc., to ride out a major man-made disaster. If we relax the pressure on the Islamonazis, they will regroup, rebuild, and strike us again and again, until we have no choice but to devastate the Arab/Muslim world in retaliation.

To put it another way, either President Bush can sort them out, or we can let God sort them out.

Thought for the Day

The present-day liberal, as with any other barbarian, does not care about the height of the pile of human skulls as long as he (or in the case of Hillary, she) is firmly seated upon it.

My Horoscope For This Week

From The Onion:
Sagittarius: (Nov. 22—Dec. 21)

Experience is a great teacher. This week, it will teach you your Miranda rights, the difference between a polecat and a skunk, and what a sucker punch is.

And Hillary Clinton is still a miserable failure.
Nancy Pelosi (democrat-San Franscio) looks likes she has been frecking embalmed!
She's on TV giving the opposition response to the President's State of the Union address.

She's using all the standard code phrases, buzz words and lies. Not much of a surprise.
She doesn't have much else to use.

Space exploration is cool, and deficit moaners are nerds.

Those Fucking Europeans

GEOFFREY WHEATCROFT in the New York Times wrote:

A large part of the European left spent a large part of the 20th century hating the United States not because it had economic inequality or Jim Crow but because it did not have show trials, labor camps and the other appurtenances of "actually existing socialism."
We Americans (the neo-barbarians on the left excepted) prefer real courts and the other attributes of an actually existing civilization.

Mr. Wheatcroft also dug up an interesting statement by English author Evelyn Waugh:

Of course, the Americans are cowards ... They are almost all the descendants of wretches who deserted their legitimate monarchs for fear of military service.
Fuck you Mister Waugh.

I'm sure General Tojo, Il Duce, und Der Fuherer would be very happy to hear that Americans are cowards. Those bloody-handed power tripping motherfuckers had their destinies very thoroughly settled by those whom that fatuous English twit calls cowards.
The courage of Americans fighting for a just cause has never failed and anyone whose continued existence is (or was in the case of that fatuous English twit) dependent on the courage of American Citizens should properly acknowledge that fact or shut the fuck up.

AMERICANS ARE CITIZENS, not the chattel of some purfumed and over-dressed decendant of some barbarian chieftain (or a commisar or other such sub-human filth), we (and the rest of the human race in general) are not subjects or slaves who exist solely to expended at the whim of the ruler, anyone who cannot accept this as an unevadable fact of reality should have their head struck off and stuck on a pike.

(There, I feel a lot better now.)

Gotta love that Bitter Bitch!
Freedom of Speech? Only for the Lefties at a major Australian university.
Former President Carter (who gave us double digit unemployment & inflation) was on TV today with Howard Dean.
This endorsement (which Carter, in typical weasel fashion isn't calling an endorsement) is a good way to fire up the party faithful. Good in the early primaries. Down the road, not so good. Anybody who lived through the Carter years will not have a positive association.
Dick Gephart is obviously confused. He claims that President Bush has not gotten international support for the war in Iraq.
Hello? Earth to Gephart! Great Britain, Spain, Poland, and about a half dozen others.
Of course he had no problem when former President Clinton failed to gain UN support for his unilateral military actions in Yugoslavia and Serbia.

Abomination of the Day

North Korean communist regime kills babies of mixed parentage.

Communist regimes have since first obtaining power in 1917 murdered an average of over 3000 people a day. Point this out the next time someone whines about McCarthyism.

Isn't there a joke about how fascism always descends in America but lands in Europe?
Like a lot of old jokes, there is a lot of truth in this one.

Random Thoughts for January 2004

One of the strongest arguments for the death penalty is that it means what it says -- unlike "life" sentences that can mean that the criminal will be back on the streets after a few years behind bars. Even "life without the possibility of parole" does not mean life without the possibility of escaping or without the possibility of electing a liberal governor who will set murderers free.

My Current Horoscope from the Onion

Sagittarius: (Nov. 22—Dec. 21)

You've never been afraid to make bold statements concerning what you're all about, which leaves a lot of people emotionally unsatisfied by your ending.

Who Wants To Buy An Aircraft Carrier

The 60 year old and 16,000 ton Colossus class light fleet carrier HMS Vengeance is still up for sale.

Maybe it could be used as a location set for one or more SF movies the way Doug Trumbull used the USS Valley Forge for his film SILENT RUNNING.

Some of the Top Morons of 2003

Police in Oakland, California spent two hours attempting to subdue a gunman who had barricaded himself inside his home. After firing ten tear gas canisters, officers discovered that the man was standing beside them in the police line, shouting, "Please come out and give yourself up."
You don't suppose that the present mayor, Jerry "Governor Moonbeam" Brown had anything to do with the present state of the Oakland PD?

Oh, and Hillary Clinton is a miserable failure too.

First An Earthquake, Now This...

TEHRAN (Reuters) - A meteorite has hit northern Iran causing minor damage to property but there were no immediate reports of casualties, state radio has said. It said the impact sent locals in panic onto the streets in the northern town of Babol in Mazandaran province.

"A meteorite which hit Babol on Friday morning caused only some minor damage to residential units," radio said, without giving further details or citing any source.

It said the impact was felt up to one kilometre away.

Iranians are currently mourning at least 30,000 people killed by an earthquake measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale which struck southeastern Iran on December 26.
You don't suppose that God is trying to send a message here?

Oh, and Hillary Clinton is a Miserable Failure.

British Socialist Gets Bitch-slapped on BBC4

It was trailed as a "unique chance to rewrite the law of the land". Listeners to BBC Radio 4's Today programme were asked to suggest a piece of legislation to improve life in Britain, with the promise that an MP would then attempt to get it onto the statute books.

But yesterday, 26,000 votes later, the winning proposal was denounced as a "ludicrous, brutal, unworkable blood-stained piece of legislation" - by Stephen Pound, the very MP whose job it is to try to push it through Parliament.

Mr Pound's reaction was provoked by the news that the winner of Today's "Listeners' Law" poll was a plan to allow homeowners "to use any means to defend their home from intruders" - a prospect that could see householders free to kill burglars, without question.

"The people have spoken," the Labour MP replied to the programme, "... the bastards."
Robert A. Heinlein used to refer to common criminals as freelance socialists.

And speaking of socialists, Hillary Clinton is a Miserable Failure.

So anyway...

I don't know if I'm going to post anything today apart from:

Hillary Clinton is a Miserable Failure,
Some more on the Bush Economy:

According to CNN, it was a Big Year for Stocks.
It seems that the recovery from the Clinton recession inherited from Bill & Hillary Rodham Clinton is on the mend...
