What Is ReligIion?

The policy commonly called "gun control" is in fact the forcible disarmament of the citizen body. It is the deliberate exercise of physical force against innocent people, and it is not a surprise that the enabling legislation has been proposed and enacted by those who believe in dealing with other persons by force, such as socialists, and thug huggers in general.

Given that public disarmament legislation is directly, through state action, or indirectly, through the actions of violent criminals, toxic to the citizen body, those who enact and enforce such legislation should be identified and treated as Enemies of the Republic and Enemies of Mankind in General, to be dealt with as wolves are.

Were I to accosted by one who is using their direct or indirect victim status as an excuse to propagate such legislative abominations I would repond thus:

Sir or Madame, I did not shoot you or your relative by blood or marriage and I will accept neither blame nor punishment for said act.

The use of expletives and beating the walking piece of excrement to a bloody pulp is only a momentary pleasure and is bound to get one adversely spoken of.

Busting A Myth

If there's one myth I'd like to bury, it's that Robert A. Heinlein is a Fascist.

Even if it kills me I will work to establish the Heinlein system as the government of the United States.

So what is the system Heinlein described in his novel Starship Troopers?  (Don't bother to see the movie, it wasn't a proper adaptation of the novel.)

Heinlein wrote the novel to be the part of the juvenile series of science fiction novels published by Scribners and as a response to pro-Soviet peace activism.  In the novel a young man grows from a naive high school student to a junior officer in the army. The narrative of the novel also serves as the framework for a series of lectures about the nature of man, morals, war, and government. The most controversial concept in the novel is that not everyone should be allowed to vote. In the place of universal suffrage Heinlein proposed the idea that the legal status of Citizen, who is a member of the sovereign class of the nation with the authority to vote, has to be earned.

Then as now there were people who clearly didn’t understand the concept of government.  Then as now there were those who sought to exploit the ignorance of the mere voter in order to obtain political power.  And worse to obtain power without restraint.  Heinlein had proposed the idea of earning the sovereign franchise as a filtering mechanism to prevent obvious fools, such as peace activists, from influencing government.

The idea of the restricted franchise isn't new.  In the Polis of Athens the franchise was restricted to property owning members of the tribe but there was no legal restraint on the state.  As history had shown this led to dysfunctions such as historic legal murder of Socrates.  It wasn't enough to restrict the powers of government but to restrict who could actually participate in the process of governing.  In practical effect to idiot proof the system.

So is it actually necessary to fully implement the system that Heinlein proposed?

The fact is that all forms of authority are based on knowledge and political authority is no exception.  But in the present system political authority is granted to any warm body without regard to their their actual state of knowledge.  As a result some warm bodies have traded their votes for a material object such as an IPad or a wad of cash.  Or worse, they've traded their votes for the warm and fuzzy feeling of having been compassionate.

The result is the present state of our nation. Those who lack knowledge or simple concern for consequences shouldn't have authority over another person, let alone the fate of a nation.

My solution to the problem is simply proper education in the obligations of citizenship.

The course would be similar to a driver education course as presently taught. The first part of the class covers The Constitution, the proper functions of each branch of government, the function of each clause and amendment, the duties of the citizen as a member of the sovereign authority of the nation, and what's expected to happen when the Federal Government enters the failure mode.

The second part of the course covers the function and use of the instrument of political authority, the personal weapon. This covers rifle marksmanship and maintenance.  Also covered is the basic organization and tactics of the citizen militia unit.

While the citizenship course won't be mandatory, completion and a passing grade will be required to exercise the authority to vote.

Another Step Back

During a search of my hard drive I found this and I made some changes based on what learned about some people:

For William Burke there was nothing to celebrate.

One of the consequences of Black Monday was the open publication of the full text of The Concept of Government by Al Keller.  And with the publication Burke’s influence on the Republican Party came to an abrupt end.  Ayn Rand and her followers in the Objectivist Movement were now fully welcomed at open gatherings, and especially the National Conventions, of the party.

Burke sat silently and contemplated the three objects on his private desk.

A revolver chambered in .38 Special, a single round of ammunition, and a copy of The Concept of Government. 

Mission Commander Boatman had sent the three items by courier and there was nothing special about the book except a passage underlined in red ink.

Burke’s virtual dance on Rand’s grave at the time of her death was nothing less than disgusting and his continued influence upon the Republican Party was nothing less than toxic.  Beneath the apparent virtue of being a conservative he held the fundamental belief in the Primacy of the State.  A principle he shared with Hitler, Stalin, and Mao, the three most lethal mass murderers who’d defiled the face of the Earth.  His malign influence on the Republican Party caused it to reject Reason and to continue its descent into a virtual joke.  Which in turn allowed the election of the open Socialist candidate Laurence Null as the President of the United States and the resulting onset of our Second Civil War.  Burke would've done a greater service to our nation and to Humanity if he'd taken the final exit.

Burke continued to sit in silence.

The mortal remains of Edward Kennedy were tied up in the back seat of an used Oldsmobile attached to an airdrop pallet and remained undisturbed on the floor of the Atlantic Ocean.

Given all this the idea of running for Governor of Texas was looking good.

As the administrations of Wilson, FDR, and Johnson were clearly malignant.  But President Carter was simply incompetent.  His moral posturing opened the path for the rise of one of the major adversaries of the Omaha Pact in The Final War and the resulting loss of millions of lives.

And quite frankly I’m at a complete loss as to how Admiral Rickover could allow such an idiot anywhere near a nuclear reactor.

For Carter there was no question that the Uptimers were evil beyond belief and they had to be stopped.

For Tomas the public celebration was absolutely obscene.  It was the fifth anniversary of the day that the Yankee Imperialists had taken the city of Havana and murdered the leaders of the True Revolution, the Castro Brothers.  Once again Tomas vowed that the Yankees and their Cuban collaborators would pay the ultimate penalty for their crimes.

One of the consequences of Black Monday was that the remnants of several families had moved out of the Northeast neighborhood of Minneapolis.  The house at 1918 Washington Street had been owned by the parents of one of the victims of the Black Monday.  And on their departure a black family from the North Side of Minneapolis had moved in.

The City of Minneapolis had been dominated by the Democratic Farmer Labor party for several decades and some of them were very old school Democrats.  In the dark of this night several men clad in dark clothes with their faces obscured set fire to the house with Molotov cocktails.  Two were used to block the exits and the others were tossed into broken windows.

There were no survivors.

Even after lights out Lafayette Ron Hubbard continued to sit upright on his bunk.  The truth about the Church of Scientology was published by the Uptimers.  The Uptimers were "fair gamed" by Hubbard and the church.  The ships of the Sea Org now sat at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean.  And many Scientology orgs were destroyed by laser fire from orbit.  The Uptimers and Mission Commander Boatman wanted to crucify Hubbard with a crown of barbed wire.  But Hubbard was subsequently arrested by the Feds.

Mission Commander Boatman wrote:

The ban on cruel and unusual punishment was clearly a prohibition on the use of torture.  If the Founders wanted to ban capital punishment they would have come out and said so.

That Samuel L. Jackson remained alive on this night was due to luck and a bit of greed on the part of a producer for Universal Pictures.  Not that he was complaining about it.

The mortal remains of Colonel Tsien remained undisturbed along with the others in the mass grave of those who were denounced as traitors to the People’s Republic.


Amman, Kingdom of Jordan and Arabia

Talal remembered seeing the glowing mushroom cloud rising above the horizon where the holiest site of Islam once stood followed by the razor straight laser beams that destroyed the armed forces of the kingdom.  Especially the National Guard, the force specifically created to protect the House of Saud.  What had once been the holiest site of Islam was at the center of a two mile wide glass lined crater.  And the Hashemites, the former protectors of Mecca and Medina, swept south after five decades of exile to retake the land of Arabia.

The door of his cell opened, it was his turn.

Major General Anderson of the Swedish Army waited in the command post of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force.  As the new year was an infidel holiday it was normally marked by one or more attacks by jihadists. 

The governments of Egypt and Syria had been told by the Uptimers that their planned attack on the State of Israel on the day of Yom Kippur would fail.  President Sadat had actually backed down but was assassinated and his successor proceeded with the plan.  When the Arab armies had reached their jump-off points for the attack they were destroyed by laser fire from orbit.

It would be nice, thought General Anderson, if the damned Arabs would just grow up.

Mikhail Gorbachev stood silently at another social gathering of the Soviet Politburo. Their intent was to celebrate another new year but in fact there was nothing to celebrate.  The fact was that the Soviet Union was another year closer to it’s ultimate demise.  And there was nothing that could be done about it.

Except, of course, to step out of the way.

Even though Gorbachev was now a full voting member of the Politburo he still wasn't welcome.  To the older members he represented the locomotive of history that was still approaching.  Though the act of stepping off of the rails of history was still unthinkable to them.  But it still had to be done.

At the age of ten John Andrew March felt a bit out of place at this gathering of adults, even in the presence of Uncle Francis and Aunt Elisabeth.  Along with the new year the Conservative Party was celebrating the fifth year in power under Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.
